Whether you are on the look for safe routes or a little more extreme and out of the box paths, we give you some of the coolest cycling routes you can find in Miami.
1. The Snake Creek Trail:
It is not a very long trail. In fact it is only 6.5 miles long. But here is the catch: the view is amazing. You can cruise along schools and neighborhoods, shopping areas and workplaces. It is interesting as you can see and meet many people on the way because it is a main transportation route. It stretches along the Snake Creek Canal so you can enjoy the view with some water extreme sports such as jet skiing and wake-boarding. It connects the north Miami beach and the city of Miami Gardens. It is also accessible from many points, making it an easy level route to ride with family and friends. You can even have a friend day out along this trail.
2. Biscayne trail:
This could be considered a family trip trail. it is a 2.7 paved trail that runs along some Miami Dade neighborhoods and several schools. It is ideal for children as it is safe and easy riding. It goes all the way to Black Point Park and Marina where you can enjoy picnics and the sparkling waters of the Biscayne Bay. Be sure to bring plenty of sunblock and enough water for the family. You will also enjoy a lush tree line scenery. It also crosses over the famous Black Creek Trail.
3. Old Cutler Trail:
This all year around trail is one of the most impressive trails in Miami. It takes you through huge mansions and paths covered with trees and plenty of shade. Be prepared for a bumpy ride as a lot of tree roots are on the way, which makes it unique and enjoyable. It takes you through Hummock Park which is worth the cycling and then to the wonderful Fairchild Gardens. It would go all the way to the Deering Estate, and if you pass at the right time, you can enjoy a beautiful view from the Chinese Bridge.
4. Commodore Trail:
It will take you along some historic places around Miami and it is worth the visit. You can stop at the Museum of Science and the Vizcaya Museum. Kennedy park, Peacock park and Barnacle Historic State Park are all on this trial and they are worth of stopping and taking some pictures it also goes through some of the most beautiful areas in the great Miami Area. It is an easy trail to cycle and has plenty of room. Although it gets narrow at some point.
5. Shark Valley Trail:
One of Miami's finest. Do you want to have contact with the wildlife? Here is the chance. This ride takes you deep into the wilderness of the everglades and in any given day you can encounter crocodiles and iguanas and any kind of living being that wonders the everglades. Remember not to feed them. You can go all the way to the lookout tower and enjoy the view and the heat first hand. Escape from the crazy life that Miami has to offer and get in contact with nature. Mosquitos are on biting mode in summer so please be prepared.
